I’ve been coming here since it was considered “a hole in the wall” my family would take us and it seriously set the standard for my pallet on what good quality authentic Mexican food is. This is the place I compare other restaurants in the area because it’s just so dang good! My favorites are the tacos dorados and the pollo don Manuel, get that with a side of tortillas and oh my goshhh it’s divine. The Chips and salsa are the best I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and very very few have comparable to the quality here at hacienda. I’ve watched this place go from a hole in the wall to what it is now and I’m so proud of the owner and the family, the cooks, servers for putting in the hard work to make this place great. Amazing food, great service, and reasonably priced. Customer for life! ~ Tp K

This place has a Mexican vibe as soon as you enter. the food was way too delicious and sumptuous. they served complimentary chips and salsa that helped alleviate our hunger a little. we had ordered for a chimichanga and a fajita - both with perfectly cooked vegetables, both served with rice and beans and both extremely yummy. the tortillas for the fajita came in a beautiful box. the murals on the walls were stunning. they have colorful cutlery, unique seating chairs and a great welcoming set of staff who are energetic and prompt in service. excellent brunch/ lunch/ dinner place in a sophisticated locality that leaves you wanting to come back for more. ~ Janani R

It was my first time at this excellent Mexican restaurant, and I cannot wait to return! The food is excellent, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. In addition, when my friend and I were asked to be seated at a different table, we were treated with the utmost courtesy, and, in spite of it being a weekend, our wait for a new table was shorter than I expected. Finally, this place was almost at capacity, but I have a feeling that is the case weekday, weeknight, weekend, and Holiday. I look forward to returning, as soon as I can. Incidentally, I live in Northern New Jersey, and this place IS worth the trip!! ~ Robert A

The food is very tasty and authentic. Something that my family and I love is whenever you get seated you are given chips and salsa. Salsa here is great and tastes very fresh. As a separate option you can order guacamole for the chips, this however costs extra. The atmosphere here is amazing as it feels welcoming and lively inside. Workers are very nice and are always rotating around tables to see where they’re needed. Sometimes, there are even people that walk around signing and playing instruments to entertain. This place is great for family and friends to have a casual meal and I would recommend it. ~ Bill C

I rarely order shrimp but this place was actually good. The photos were from 2 different take out orders. One was the taco salad with shrimp and the other was a variety of tacos. Everything is authentic here. I wish they had the option to order online without having to call for takeout pickup. This place was in honor of the Father’s name. If you are in Suffern this place is not to be missed. I forgot to mention the beverages are amazing all of them are too good not to try. Cold infusion drink made with Jamaica flower, Tamarindo, & Horchata. ~ Wendy D

Amazing! I was looking for authentic Mexican food and I found it at Hacienda! There was so much to choose from it was hard to decide, but the quesadilla and chiles rellenos were definitely the right choice. The food came out delicious. Also, the atmosphere is beautiful with the murals all over the place. The horse brings a fun touch too. Raul was attentive, professional, and a great host. I am already planning on coming back and getting the Churros again. YUM! ~ L M

Authentic as they come. This restaurant serves some of the best guacamole I've ever had in my life. Best yet, they even make it at the table for you so you can see what goes inside of it. I was disappointed in myself for not liking the mole sauce. Not because it wasn't prepared well, but because I actually don't like the taste of chocolate sauce. Although I didn't like it, I can still tell it tasted genuine and authentic. This restaurant makes you want to explore outside your comfort zone. ~ Christopher M

Hacienda Don Manuel was amazing! The food was bursting with flavor and tasted so authentic. Every dish felt like it was made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and prepared with care. Well, I am not Mexican altho I am a Latino and the Mexicans tell me this hacienda tacos are not the originals, I truly appreciate the fresh smell and taste of the tacos here , I'll take beef and chicken and for me is good that the tortilla is not deeped in oil, healthy or Americanized I guess, but, yeah this is my joint, don't get me wrong here I also like the original tacos too , hahahaha, recommend it to anyone ~ Oscar V

Was in the area on a business trip and was craving Mexican. Our vendor recommended hacienda, and it didn't disappoint. Kevin, our waiter was amazing. Super helpful and accommodating. The food was great too, table side guac, chimichangas and margaritas to start for the table of 6. Fajitas, enchiladas, and tacos for entrées. Our food was hot, fast and fresh, and super delicious. It's definitely a must try when in the area. ~ danielle t

If you are looking for authentic's Mexican food look no further. Everything here is delicious and the service is super friendly I have been in several other competitor restaurants and they don't even come close. Another good indication is many of the people that frequent this restaurant are also Mexican or of Spanish dissent. Which to me in a very positive way is a great way to rate the authenticity of a particular style food. ~ Al S

Very traditional place! I've been going here with my family for years since they were up the block in a smaller space. We went here Sunday for dinner and got the guacamole- which is always amazing and the milanesa de bistec for my entree. We normally get the chilaquiles & ceviche for appetizers. They always start you off with chips and salsa. Great margaritas. Staff is helpful, music is good and the owner Jesus is a great guy! ~ Adrian D

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in New York, they have the best guacamole and also the best shrimp. I also love the service and the desert, my favorite being the churros and ice cream. I suggest this place for anyone looking for a good and cheap Mexican food. They also have free parking around the back and they also have bathrooms and a bar. I’m at La Hacienda de Don Manuel, a Mexican restaurant, and I have to say it deserves a five-star rating! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The service is excellent, and the food is authentically Mexican. As someone from Mexico 🇲🇽 and very particular about food, I was truly impressed. The environment is welcoming, and our waitstaff, including waitresses and waiters, provided attentive service. My favorite place to eat in town !!! Chips and salsa free all the time and I'm obsessed !!!! Friendly service ! Very clean !!! And fresh food always !!!! Specialty drinks ! Imported Mexican soda !!! Food is great as always and the customer service is so great. My sister wanted to do the duck game they have at the entrance and they even paid for her retry! Definitely worth the visit if you’re in town and wanting a quick meal. And it includes a show! We had a man with a guitar sing to us while we ate, and it was very entertaining. Excellent all the way around . The guitar player was also excellent . 4 meals guacamole appetizer no drinks with a 22% tip $ 100.00 . Take that Joe Baaaaden . Just have to give an update . Amazing food! If you like mexican food this is the place to go. You get a good meal for your money. The men who work there are always nice and work very hard. I will tell you on the weekends from around 6pm to 8pm it gets very packed. If you go during day hours you are fine. This restaurant has spoiled me and now I don't want to eat Mexican anywhere else. Went to the Hacienda today with a friend it was the 1st time she was there .She loved the food as much as I do.They never disapoint .Server was excellent and fast getting our food .Inexpensive prices you get alot. I recommend this place if you love Good Mexican food and restaurant decor makes you feel like you are in a Mexican restaurant . ~ Rosemary B

It’s always a treat to dine at Hacienda. The food is fresh and delicious, especially the guacamole, which is made table side. The strolling singer/guitar player adds a festive air, and the service is always super friendly. The casual, welcoming atmosphere makes it equally good for families or adults. ~ Lisa S

Stopped in last night for the first time. Excellent food & dining experience. Table for four, nacho app , guacamole made in front of you creamy and so amazing. Pitcher red sangria, one beer, 4 iced teas, 4 meals 20%tip = $120. We went about 6:45 pm short wait, fast service. Highly recommend going if in the area. ~ Rich B

Good Mexican tasty food. Guacamole is made in front of you, don't miss!!! I had the fajitas, extremely tasty especially the vegetables. My son had the fish tacos, excellent! Nothing fancy. Reasonably clean. Very relaxing service. Food was very good didn't have room for dessert maybe next time! Enjoy!! ~ Bruce K

ONLY 5 STARS! Wish I could give it more. Stopped by for dinner on what appeared to be the busy Saturday night rush. The wait staff moved at the speed of light the entire time. Live music aka a guy playing traditional Mexican guitar table side. Would drive 2 hours to eat here again. 11/10 would recommend. ~ Joseph F
